Talking
about fishing, after a filling breakfast, your boat will ride the
700 yards of the Estancia channel to reach the Corriente River. In
no more than 10 minutes, you'll be casting your fly and perhaps even
experience the unforgettable first dorado strike of the day. You’ll
be able to fish along the best 20 miles of the river, and occasionally
on the southernmost area of the Iberá marshes.
At midday you will be returning to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch.
After that, you can relax at the lodge to stay away from the mid-day
sun. You can even enjoy a traditional "siesta" (nap) that
will prepare you to return to the river in the middle of the afternoon.
Towards the end of the day, you'll certainly experience the magical
moment when hunting dorado schools put the entire river on fire and
you can have your best chance to hook a 20-pound monster. You'll fish
until darkness before returning to the lodge,
where dinner will be served at your convenience. On
an average day and depending on your skills, you can get up to a dozen
dorado strikes. On a good day, this figure can climb up to an astonishing
20. Boating a dorado is another story – this will depend on
your angling skills and strong nerves. On average, Iberá dorado
will weigh 4-8 pounds but during a 5-day stay, it is very likely that
you’ll have at least one strike of a monster of more than 12-15
pounds.
