EL DORADO LODGE is in the Corrientes Province, 600 miles North of the city of Buenos Aires. Mercedes, the nearest small town, is located 40 miles from the lodge.
The lodge was built right on the Corriente River, just a few miles from where it flows out of the Iberá marshlands and is only approximately 40-yards wide.
The river is a provincial reserve, where only catch and release is allowed, there are no public roads close to the river, so fishing pressure is real low and most of the time you will fish alone. All this, combined with exceptional natural conditions makes this a fisherman's paradise.
Because of the clarity of the water which is "filtered" by the marshes' vegetation and because fishing is only "catch and release" this is certainly the "hottest" spot in South America to cast a fly at trophy dorado.

HOW TO GET
All international flights to Argentina arrive in Buenos Aires. From there, the fastest and most comfortable option is to catch a domestic flight to the city of Resistencia in the Chaco province. From Resistencia, you can choose to fly directly to EL DORADO on a small charter plane or drive there by land on a 4-by-4 vehicle, which takes approximately 4 hours.

Another option which is also the best for your wallet is to ride from Buenos Aires on a comfortable express coach to the city of Mercedes. From there, the adventure at El DORADO is only 1 and a half hours away.

You can experience it all at EL DORADO LODGE in the Corrientes Province in Argentina.
